Pazhoohan Parastar has been writing stories in various formats since adolescence and penned his first screenplay at the age of fifteen. He pursued a degree in Architectural Engineering at university, while simultaneously studying Screenwriting and Directing.
Parastar's professional career includes contributions as a writer and performance director in several films and theatrical productions. In 2016, he became an official member of the Iranian House of Cinema.
His collaboration with Danial Ghelichpour, beginning in the early days of his filmmaking journey, led to the founding of ZHONAR Studio. To date, ZHONAR Studio has produced over fifty artistic and commercial short films, many of which have received recognition at international film festivals.

Parastar’s short films are often dialogue-free, relying on minimalism and the principle that “the whole world speaks one language: silence”. This approach is meant to transcend cultural and linguistic boundaries and communicate universally.
Parastar emphasizes conveying meaning in the shortest possible time, out of respect for the viewer's attention and time.
The short film series "Dastan" (translated as "The Hands") was conceived and produced during the COVID-19 pandemic, reflecting this same philosophy.
The aim of this series is to challenge ethical and social issues through the use of visual metaphors and symbolic imagery.
In most of his works, Parastar avoids offering direct solutions or formulas. Instead, he shares his internal conflicts and reflections, inviting audiences into a space of collective contemplation. His stories and screenplays often unfold in surreal and minimalistic worlds, unbound by the traditional frameworks of reality.
